What Bloom Does

Bloom is a paycheck survival kit that helps you determine if you will run out of money before your next paycheck. We analyze your balance, bills, paycheck schedule, and estimated spending to calculate your financial risk.

Data We Collect

• Account information (name, email, password hash)
• Financial inputs (balance, paycheck amount/date, bills, estimated spend)
• Bank account data via Plaid (account names, types, balances — read-only)

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Bank login credentials (handled securely by Plaid)
• Transaction history (not accessed in this version)
• Location data
• Contact lists or device data

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to calculate your paycheck risk and display your financial outlook. We do not sell, share, or monetize your data in any way.

Third-Party Services

Plaid — We use Plaid to securely connect your bank accounts. Plaid's privacy policy is available at plaid.com/legal. Bloom receives read-only access to account balances. We cannot initiate transactions or move money.

Data Storage

Your data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon (neon.tech) with encryption at rest. Plaid access tokens are stored server-side and never exposed to the client.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app's Settings screen. Deletion is immediate and permanent — we do not retain any data after deletion.
